Lorraine S. Burke

Lorraine S. Burke, 78, of Pine Lake Rd., Westbrook, died Sunday, (August 25, 2002) at Middlesex Hospital. She was the wife of William A. Burke. She was born Jan. 26, 1924 in Willimantic, daughter of the late Henry and Dora (Chasse) Sypher. She served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. She was a dental assistant in Willimantic until her retirement. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Beverly and her husband, George Downing, of Niskayuna, NY and Laurie Bentley of Colchester; five grandchildren, Scott, Benjamin, Sara and Julie Downing and Seth Gilistro; a great-grandson, Matthew Downing; and a brother, Leroy Sypher of Windham. She was predeceased by a daughter, Maureen Burke. Private funeral and burial. No calling hours.
