Lorraine Burke Obituary

Lorraine S. Burke, 78, of Pine Lake Rd., Westbrook, died Sunday, (August 25, 2002) at Middlesex Hospital. She was the wife of William A. Burke. She was born Jan. 26, 1924 in Willimantic, daughter of the late Henry and Dora (Chasse) Sypher. She served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. She was a dental assistant in Willimantic until her retirement. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Beverly and her husband, George Downing, of Niskayuna, NY and Laurie Bentley of Colchester; five grandchildren, Scott, Benjamin, Sara and Julie Downing and Seth Gilistro; a great-grandson, Matthew Downing; and a brother, Leroy Sypher of Windham. She was predeceased by a daughter, Maureen Burke. Private funeral and burial. No calling hours. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Middlesex Hospital, Weiss Hospice Unit, 55 Crescent St., Middletown 06457 or to the charity of one's choice. The Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street, Centerbrook, is in charge of arrangements.

WE WILL ALL MISS YOU GRANDMA. I HAVE MANY MEMORIES BUT THE ONE THAT STANDS OUT IS WHEN I WAS YOUNG AND WE WOULD TAKE WALKS TO THE BEACH IN CLINTON WITH GRANDPA AND GRANDMA.
