Lorraine DeMilia Obituary

Lorraine (Calabrese) DeMilia, 96, wife to the late Rocco A. DeMilia, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on January 11, 2024. Lorraine was born to the late Henry and Theresa (Hanley) Calabrese in Springfield, Massachusetts. She retired from the G. Fox and Co. after many years in retail sales developing close relationships with customers and enjoying the interactions over the years.

In her early years, Lorraine enjoyed roller skating, ice skating, tap dancing and overnight train trips to Chicago with friends. More recently she went on Atlantic City vacations, casino trips and poker games with her friends.

Lorraine leaves her son Rocco C. DeMilia and his wife Jane of Willington, her grandsons Chistopher DeMilia, his wife Erica and their sons Caleb and Landon of Amherst, New Hampshire and Brian DeMilia of Manchester and many nieces, nephews and longtime friends. Lorraine is predeceased by her brother, Edward Calabrese, with whom she was so close. She appreciated the special times she shared with her Godchild Janice Lombardo and her family. Her grandsons meant everything to her and she was the most generous and loving grandmother anyone could ask for. Her image lives on through her time with her two great-grandsons with whom she was able to play and laugh with for several years. She appreciated the many times together with her nieces and nephews, whose many calls and visits over the years meant so much to her. She loved all people and was the life of any party.

Friends and family may call on Monday, January 15, 2024 from 9:30AM to 10:30AM at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Lorraine's life will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024 at 11:00AM in the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Rocky, Jr. so sad to grade about the passing of your Mom. I remember her from the Chicago train trips with the REA. Your Mom was the sweetest woman I ever met. I can still hear her vice. Both my Mom and Dad have been gone almost 40 years but I know they cherished the times spent with your parents. I know the folks from that Pullman car are having a heck of a reunion. May they all Rest In Peace.
