Manuel "Manny" Vidal

1957 - 2021

Manuel "Manny" Vidal, 64 of Hartford, CT passed away suddenly on October 11, 2021. Born in Valmaior, Albergaria-Velha Portugal on June 20, 1957, Manny immigrated to the US with his family in 1968. He grew up in Connecticut and graduated from Hartford High School in 1975. Manny was well liked in school, and always helped his fellow classmates while looking out for his sisters. At home, he could be found climbing the fig trees in the yard or jumping into the pen with the family's goats. Mr. Vidal danced in the Portuguese Rancho (folk dance) and traveled around the states to perform and celebrate his culture. This is how he met his former spouse Maria Vidal of East Falmouth, MA. They married and Manny began his life on Cape Cod, eventually raising two daughters. Manny enjoyed taking his girls on adventures, making jokes and prided himself on always having the greenest lawn on the block. He was always up for helping others, and had a big heart for all animals, especially dogs, cats and birds. Coffee, Portuguese food, cars and being outdoors were some of his favorite things. He leaves behind two daughters Katrina Fallon and her husband Eric Fallon of Hyannis, MA and Kristan Vidal of Falmouth, MA, a granddaughter, Althea Fallon of Hyannis, MA and two sisters, Maria Olinda Santiago of Valmaior, Portugal and Maria "Virita" E. Pecor of Glastonbury, CT. He also leaves behind many friends, cousins, nieces, nephews and close family members. Manny was predeceased by his parents Manuel and Maria da Luz Vidal, and his son Joshua M. Vidal. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 19th at 11:30 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 50 Kane Street, Hartford, CT 06106. A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, October 27th at 10 AM at St. Anthony's Church, 167 E Falmouth HWY, East Falmouth, MA 02536. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Archbishops Annual Appeal, 467 Bloomfield Avenue, Bloomfield CT, 06002 in memory of Manuel C. Vidal.
