Sister Marian Ingellis

Sister Marian Ingellis, MPF, a native of Bristol CT and a member of the Religious Teacher Filippini, died peacefully on Thursday, October 29, 2015, at Saint Joseph Hall, Villa Walsh, Morristown, NJ., at the age of 86. Viewing will be Monday, November 2, 2015, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 4:00 p.m. at the Saint Lucy Chapel at Villa Walsh, Morristown, NJ. Sister Marian entered the Religious Teachers Filippini in 1950 and received her habit in that same year. Her final religious profession was in 1953. She was awarded a BA degree with a major in English and a minor in Philosophy from the College of St. Elizabeth, Convent Station, NJ., and received an MA in English from Villanova University, Villanova, PA. Sister Marian, a teacher for 57 years, taught in the elementary schools in the Archdiocese of Newark, and Dioceses of Trenton, Paterson, NJ, Cleveland, OH and Norwich, CT. Most of her teaching career, however, was teaching English at the high school level: St. Joseph, Hammonton, NJ; Paul VI High School, Haddonfield, NJ; Villa Victoria Academy, Trenton, NJ; Villa Walsh Academy, Morristown, NJ. Although blessed with many gifts, Sister Marian's greatest attribute is that of "teacher." Highly acclaimed by her students, they would confirm that she was a second to none outstanding English teacher. Sister Marian retired from Villa Walsh Academy in 2009, and became a resident at St. Joseph Hall Infirmary in September 2012. Sister Marian is predeceased by her parents Victor Ingellis and Mary (Orso) Ingellis, brother John Ingellis and sisters Phyllis Robinson and Carol Ainsworth. She is survived by brothers Patrick and wife Corinne Ingellis, Old Saybrook, CT; William and wife Sandra Ingellis, Southbury, CT; and sister Sandra Morse-Druhan and husband Lawrence of Andover, MA, and many nieces and nephews.
