SHATTELROE, Marietta (Ely) Marietta (Ely) Collins Shattelroe, 83, of Granby, passed away with family members by her side on Wednesday (March 15, 2006). She was born June 30, 1922, in Sixteen Acres, MA, daughter of the late John and Josephine Ely and had lived in Granby for the past 50 years. She was a lifelong, loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to shop with her grandkids, playing cards with her nieces and being a homemaker and gardener. She always had a sense of humor and everybody she met loved her and she will be deeply missed. Marietta leaves two sons, Alfred Shattelroe of Springfield, MA, James Shattelroe of Granby; and three granddaughters, Marietta, Heather and Shayna. She also leaves many close relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred L. Shattelroe and son, Edward J. Shattelroe, and also her first husband, Bernard Collins and two sons, John B. Collins and Robert Collins. She also was predeceased by a sister, Edith Dubisky and two brothers, Edward Ely and Richard Ely. A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 18, 11 a.m. at the Granby Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Friday, March 17, from 5-8 p.m. at the Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook Street, Granby. Memorial donations may be made to the Connecticut Children's Medical Center, 12 Charter Oak PL., Hartford, CT 06106 or the Arthritis Foundation, 35 Cold Springs Road, Suite 411, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
