Dear Lynn, Marina and Dean and family,
Your Mom was one of my favorite parishioners at St. Mark's in Storrs. She had the long view and tons of grace...with a backbone. She and your Dad talked about the Civil Rights work they did, one time over dinner at the aptly named Freedom Green. Being a journalist and so interested, I peppered them with questions. What a delightful night. She was one of the matriarchs of St. Mark's, aware of everything going on. Much later, I went with a LEM to visit her at her newer home away from home, if you will. We prayed and then, in the gentlest fashion, she tried to get me to break her out. I loved her.
