Michael Cascio Obituary
Mike had a great passion for his sports teams, especially the New York Yankees where he regularly brought his children for many years to games and opening day which gave them the opportunity to meet some of the great Yankee Legends. He also loved the New York Giants and the UConn Huskies. For many years, he found happiness in watching his grandchildren enjoy Disney World. Upon his retirement, Michael loved to spend time at his home in Bonita Springs, Florida where he found solitude and made many new snowbird friends that will miss him dearly.
Michael is survived by his daughter, Tammy Grillo and her husband Carl of Vernon, CT; his sons, Keith Cascio and his husband Nick of Tampa, FL and Christopher Cascio and his wife Laura of East Hampton, CT; and his loving daughter-in-law, Gail Cascio of New Rochelle, NY. Michael had a deep pride and love for his grandchildren with whom he leaves behind; Danielle Altman and her husband Jason, Michael Grillo, Crystal Pace and her husband Peter, Michael Anthony Cascio, III, Daniel Cascio, and Charlotte Cascio; along with his great grandchildren, Sophia, Benjamin, and Jacob; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Along with his wife Joy, Mike was predeceased by his loving companion of 13 years, Judith Ferra, and his son, Michael Anthony, Cascio, Jr.
Relatives and friends may join the family for calling hours on Monday, October 30, 2023, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Ladd Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road, Vernon CT. A funeral procession will gather on Tuesday, October 31, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home for A Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernard Church, St. Bernard Terrace Rockville CT. Our deepest condolences to all of you. We have many memories of Mike , especially during the pandemic in 2020/21 in Bonita Springs. We spent lots of time outside, 6 ft. apart, telling jokes and playing games. We will remember him fondly.
