Michael Citron Obituary

Michael Arthur Citron, 72, passed away peacefully in his home on the evening of Friday May 8th, 2015, held by his adoring wife, Rena of 40 years, and his children; Shelly, Noah and Elizabeth. The support and friendship of his incredible friends and family brought him joy and comfort until his passing. Michael always lived in the present and enjoyed life in all its forms; finding meaning in his connections with all people who crossed his path. Michael was a genuine, happy and grateful man who woke up singing each morning. He will be passionately missed. Please consider donating to the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) in Michael's memory. SPLC is dedicated to fighting hate and bigotry and to seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of our society. Or a charity of your choice. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Michael's life at Temple Sinai (41 West Hartford Road, Newington) on Sunday, May 10th at 3pm. Please dress casual as this is not a formal service or funeral. It is a gathering of loved ones, per Michael's request. This is an opportunity to share personal stories and memories of Michael to assist in our healing process. We welcome and encourage your participation. Following the gathering, Shiva will be held at the Citron residence on Sunday, May 10th at 7pm and on Monday, May 11th between 1pm & 8pm.

We were so sad to hear of Michael's death. While not surprised, his death saddens us as he was so full of life, even during his illness. We were away and heard of the news of his death this morning. We are so sorry to not have been there. Michael will always be larger than life in our minds and hearts. His dedication and love of his family is evident
and will live with all of you. Our thoughts are with you.

Renah, I so remember our family ties from childhood, when my aunt Doris and Esther would go with my mother Ethel, to visit Lillian and your whole family. I can't believe a lifetime has passed that your husband has died. I hope your lovely family can ease this sorrow for you. We were away when Faye sent the information, and have just now returned home.
