Michael D'Agostino Obituary

It is with heavy hearts and deepest sadness that we announce that Michael, age 46, beloved husband of Eloise Bune D'Agostino and father of their cherished twins Arabella and Octavia, passed away suddenly, but peacefully at home on December 28th. He is the son of Sheila and John D'Agostino of West Hartford where he was born and attended Duffy School, graduated from Kingswood Oxford School and then from Bucknell University. He began his career in the Manhattan financial world becoming a vice-president at Bear Stearns Companies, Inc. and working at the New York Stock Exchange before founding Tentrr, Inc. which created a web based camping experience across the nation. Michael's cousin Chris describes him as a "big bright light in the world," and he truly was. As a gifted and talented writer, entrepreneur, chef, singer, actor, carpenter, sailor and loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend with a charismatic personality, he will be always remembered. Only this summer Michael finished beautifully restoring a 22 foot sailboat of which he was so proud, and was just finishing work refurbishing an old barn on the property of his new home to which he added a great family exercise salon. His father found much joy in helping with these projects. Michael and Eloise were a beautiful couple who turned heads wherever they went. In their fifteen wonderful years of marriage between Manhattan and Bovina, NY, they travelled, entertained, and celebrated life more than most people do in a much longer lifetime and were partners in every way. Now they were finding greatest joy in raising their two most charming and adorable twin daughters, the lights of their lives, in Westport, CT. Besides his wife, children and parents, Michael leaves to mourn brother Ryan and his wife, Sarah, sister Lindsay Coluccio and her husband, Rett, sister Elizabeth Carpenter and her husband, Joseph; his wife's parents Sarah and Anthony Bune, brothers-in-law Delius and his partner, Jody, Tertius and his wife, Susan, as well as nieces and nephews, John, Bennett, Casey, Dylan, Quinn, Daisy, Joey, Magnus, and Paloma. Due to COVID there will be a private funeral service for family. A reception to celebrate Michael's wonderful life is planned for a later time. Calling hours, socially distanced and masked, will be held on Monday, January 4th from 4:00 to 6:30 at the Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Road E., Westport. A livestream of the funeral will be available at 10:00 am on January 5th at https://event.locallive.tv/events/43691. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation at Wish.org or Gilda's Club of New York, in the name of Bennett D'Agostino.

It is a small comfort to think that Mike did more and lived more with the time he was with us than most do who live twice as long. He truly had a zest for life that was fun and inspiring to be around. He´s missed for sure.....though his impact lives on and will continue to do so.

It is so sad to hear this news. Dags was such a nice guy and pleasure to sit next to and learn from in the 1 – 2 years that we overlapped at Bear. I was always envious of his intellect, his smile and his hair

Michael was such a beautiful young man. His presence would light up a room. He was kind, funny, smart caring, loving, generous and much much more. We will miss him so much. Heaven has received a beautiful soul. Our prayers and loving thoughts are with his wife Eloise, their two beautiful girls and the entire D’Agostino family.

There are times in life when you lose someone that it's hard to find the words to say to those that you love, admire, and are very proud of in your family. I have never been a religious person even though in our family growing up we attended church every Sunday. As time went on I did some research on learning more about Jesus Christ. Not from the Bible but from some of the oldest writings that's been found over the years. In that time going to Church and then reading about Jesus I never quite understood where the concept of Angels originated from. Then about 15 years ago a friend had lost a child and we were talking and he said, I accepted the fact that when my time comes I know there will be an Angel waiting for me. I was over-whelmed by his response. I couldn't stop thinking about what he had said. So thinking of that tonight I looked up the term Angel and this is what I found - All angels originate from the human race, and there is not one angel in heaven who first did not live in a material body. Moreover, all children who die not only enter heaven but eventually become angels. The life of angels is that of usefulness, and their functions are so many that they cannot be enumerated.
I know now what it takes to become an Angel and that is certainly Michael. May he rest in peace.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you,
Martin & Kerry Hainsey and Family

Michael had one of the best laughs ever. I remember it well from the early 2000s. I also remember his positivity and energy--in a league of his own in both regards. My deepest condolences to all his family.

Thould I have long realised that every day is a gift, I'm stunned to learn of Michael's passing. Beautiful as a child, with Hollywood good looks, he became much like my beloved father, Alfred Fish . . . he was the life of the party. To his loving family, and cadre of back-slapping buddies, keep your memories close. I know I will. Forever, Uncle Randall.

Michael was a friend from the first minute you met him. I loved his ideas for fiction novels.
