Milton Susman Obituary

Milton "Mutt" Susman of South Ocean Boulevard, Palm Beach, FL, formerly of West Hartford, died Monday, (February 18, 2002) in Palm Beach, FL. He was the husband of the late Estelle H. "Ted" (Hoffman) Susman. He was born in New Haven. After a career as owner of the Hartford Sugar Company, a wholesale grocery business, he became a stockbroker and later an investment advisor for various clients, including the City of Hartford municipal pension plan. He was a contributor to many charitable organizations, especially the Hartford Jewish Federation and the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County, FL. He leaves two daughters, Toni Sonet and her husband, Richard of New York, NY and Barbara Lubow of Davie, FL; a son, Peter Susman and his wife, Sandy of Spring Hill, FL; five grandchildren, Karen Sonet-Rosenthal, Jenny Lubow, Vikki Dunn, Leah Rosenthal and Mark Susman; and eight great-grandchildren. He also leaves many close friends, including the Chang family. He was predeceased by a grandson, Jeffrey Sonet. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 21, 12 Noon, at the Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery, Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield. The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday, after 2 p.m. and Thursday evening at 73 High Ridge Road, West Hartford. Memorial contributions may be made to the Foundation of the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County, 4601 Community Drive, West Palm Beach, FL 33417, specifically for the Ted and Mutt Susman Fund. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford.
