Morris Dodson Obituary

Morris N. Dodson, 87, of Avery Heights, Hartford, husband of Marie (Burri) Dodson, died Friday, (November 7, 2003) at Avery Heights. Born in Reading, he lived in Berlin for 50 years, before moving to Hartford in 1999. A World War II U.S. Navy veteran, he operated Dodson Sandwich Bars in Berlin with his brother Harvey for 30 years, retiring in 1977. He was a member of Kensington Congregational Church and the Berlin Kiwanis Club. Besides his wife Marie, he leaves two daughters, Margaret Rush and her husband, Terry of Tolland and Dorothy Holmes and her husband, Donald of Weston, MA; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers, Layton, Harvey, John, and Grant Dodson. A memorial service will be held Monday, 2 p.m. in the Chapel at Avery Heights, 905 New Britain Avenue, Hartford. Burial will be in Maple Cemetery, Berlin. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care, 111 Founders Plaza, Suite 200, East Hartford, CT 06108. Dear Marie:

We were so sorry to read about Morris. We recall all the good times we had with you folks, especially in VT. Remember the time up there we went to a square dance and with the caller's wife, they had one set. We brought the tally up to two sets. I wish we could make the service but we have eye doctor appts at the same time.
