MADONNA, Nicholas E. Nicholas E. Madonna, 81, died unexpectedly on Saturday (December 3, 2005). He was born in Fall River, MA and has lived in New Britain for over 45 years. He was the husband of 56 years of Marion (Briere) Madonna Mr. Madonna was a World War II Veteran having served in the Navy. He retired from Fenn Mfg. after many years of service; and he was also a carpenter and did window displays for many stores. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and enjoyed many hobbies such as woodworking and raising tropical fish. Besides his devoted wife Marion, he is survived by his loving children, three sons and a daughter, Michael Madonna and his wife, Donna of Harwinton; Mark Madonna and his wife, Helen of E. Hartford; Robert Madonna of Massachusetts and Colleen Malley and her husband, Dennis of Burlington. He leaves a brother, Andrew Madonna of Fall River, MA; two sisters, Dolores Machado of East Providence, RI and Patricia Michelson of Fall River; also ten grandchildren, a great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Shirley Oliviera. Funeral services will be on Friday, December 9, at 9:15 a.m. from New Britain Memorial Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, followed by the funeral liturgy at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial with Military Honors will be at St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Thursday, December 8, from 4-7 p.m. at New Britain Memorial Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, (Directions, Exit 37 off I-84 take a right at the exit, 1 1/2 miles on your right).
