Paul Pasquariello Obituary
Attorney Paul J. Pasquariello, 86, of West Hartland, died Friday, (September 27, 2002) at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, following a short illness. Born in Brooklyn, NY, August 12, 1916, a son of the late Andrew and Rose Pasquariello, he had lived here all of life. He was a graduate of The Gilbert School, Class of 1933, Yale University in 1937, and the Yale School of Law in 1940. As Valedictorian at Gilbert, he had the highest scholastic record ever achieved up to that time. He also broke records at Yale University with a 98, four-year average, the highest ever in the history of the university. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Order of the Coif. He was the recipient of numerous awards and prizes during his years at Yale, one of which was a six-week trip to Italy, for his proficiency in Italian. Upon graduating from law school, he was chosen by Chase Brass of Waterbury for a temporary assignment, then went to work at the General Council's Office of the War Manpower Commission in Washington, DC, for several years. Upon his return to CT, he set up his law practice in Torrington, where he was engaged in the practice of general law for over 50 years. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, a 3rd degree member Knights of Columbus, the Yale Alumni Assoc., CT Bar Assoc., Litchfield County Bar Assoc., AARP, Golden Sheaf Member of Riverton Grange #169, and the Hartland Historical Society. He was also town attorney for the Town of Hartland for 17 years. His survivors include two sisters, Anna Pasquariello and Edith Pasquariello, both of W. Hartland; a nephew, Anthony Pasquariello; two nieces, Rose Marie Zaharek and Margaret Holtman; ten great nieces and nephews; a great great nephew; and several cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Anthony Pasquariello; two sisters, Amelia P. Zordan, Felicia Pasquariello; and a niece, Alice Abetz. Funeral services will be held on Monday, 10:30 a.m. the Maloney Funeral Home, 55 Walnut Street, Winsted, to St. Joseph Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph new Cemetery. Friends may call at a funeral home on TODAY, 4-7 p.m., and on Monday morning before the funeral. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony School; or to St Joseph Church, P.O.
