DOYLE, Raymond F. (Ray)
Raymond F. (Ray) Doyle, age 83, passed away after a long, courageous battle with cancer, on May 6, 2013, in Vernon. Ray was born in Worcester, MA; and grew up in South Boston, MA. He was a longtime resident of Tewksbury, MA; Weston, MA; and Maynard, MA. Ray is survived by his wife, Lorraine (Comeau Miller) Doyle; his children, Dennis Doyle of Ayer, MA, Barry Doyle of Brookline, NH and his wife Jackie, Heidi Doyle of Tewksbury, MA, and her husband, Shawn Beauchesne, and Stephen Doyle. He is also survived by three step-sons, Bryan Miller of South Windsor, and his wife Diane, Gregory Miller of Tolland, and his wife Jennifer, and Scott Miller of Vernon. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his brother, Thomas J. Doyle. Ray proudly served in the US Air Force as an aerial photographer. He was a past Board member of The Copley Society, Boston, MA; and the North Shore Arts Association, Gloucester, MA. Ray was an artist who was well-known for his dynamic seascapes and beautiful cityscapes. American Artist Magazine published a biography of Ray, featuring his watercolor paintings. Ray created a cartoon series called "The Snowbirds" that was published weekly in The Hockey News, Toronto, Canada. For many years Ray taught adult watercolor classes in Weston, MA. He had a life-long passion for the Boston Red Sox, the Boston Bruins, and the New England Patriots.
Services are being provided by Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, Vernon, CT. Funeral services will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church, 523 Hartford Turnpike, Vernon, CT, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 11.
