Richard Fink Obituary

FINK, Richard H. Richard H. Fink, 79, of East Hartford and Old Saybrook, died Saturday (June 3, 2006) at Middlesex Hospital. He was born May 28, 1927 in East Hartford, son of the late Frank and Anna Fink, he lived his entire life in East Hartford and spent his summers at his beloved cottage in Old Saybrook. He loved the ocean and boating, as well as flying, and held his private pilot's license since he was 16. He was recently awarded the Wright Brothers Master Pilot award, honoring pilots with more than 50 years of flying experience. He followed in his father's and grandfather's foot steps of being a master carpenter. He built several homes in the East Hartford and Glastonbury area and his attention to detail is still enjoyed by residents of these homes. He was a member of the American Legion in Glastonbury and the A.O.P.A.. He leaves to honor his memory his children, Roger Fink and his wife Geralyn of Bristol, Linda Evans of Essex, Susan Helline and her husband Steve of Ohio; his grandchildren Stefanie Riccardo of Niantic, Jeff Fink of Old Saybrook, Joseph Helline of Ohio; a brother Edward Fink of East Hartford and his beloved dog Madison. He was predeceased by his wife Betty and a sister Ruth. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Middlesex Hospital for being a beacon of hope and offering the highest possible standard of medical care and excellence. Funeral service will be Wednesday, June 7 at 10 a.m. in the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday, June 6 from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Middlesex Hospital, Office of Philanthropy, 28 Crescent St., Middletown 06457.
