To my Cousin in Heaven
Clarence
October 9, 2024
Kinda lost track of Bob when he moved to Florida. When I saw the storm track for hurricane Milton, I thought I might be able to contact him. I was totally shocked when I saw his obit. Belated condolences to Sheri and his family.
I met Bob when I had the coffee truck parked near Aetna. We talked alot about stocks and the market. Wave Systems (WAVX was the ticker symbol and his license plate as well!) was a tiny stock in the late 90s, about a $1.50/share. We both loaded up on it and it climbed to roughly $50. I didn't have the sense to sell it and watched it fall all the way back when the dot-com bubble burst. So it goes. But we developed a great friend ship and played golf every Sunday morning at St. Anne's in Agawam Ma. with Don, Al, John, Wayne, Elmo, among others.

When Bob did not reply to my recent E Mails, I just googled his name & this obit appeared! I am so very shocked & saddened. He always kidded that I am his "oldest friend". His mother, Erene, & my mother, Mildred Walker, were college roommates. Bob & I were born a month apart & used to play in my sandbox as toddlers. Life took us in different directions but in recent years we met annually in FL for lunch & caught up. I just mailed his birthday card! Shari, I am so sorry! He was a wonderful man & one of my dearest friends. Please contact me by EMail @ [email protected]. God Bless!

Condolences from The Wagner's. We were Bob's neighbors in Florida, we always looked forward each year to see him and Bailey. He would always ask what concerts I'd seen recently and we both enjoyed Pink Floyd
He will be greatly missed by both my mom and myself. We will miss Bailey too!
May he rest in peace!

Dear Shari and Karen: I am sadden to hear of the loss of your father, so sorry to have heard of his passing. Bob was a role model and leader in his field when we worked closely togeter at the IBM Hartford Branch Office. I fondly recall his expertise, his dedication to his clients and all the while keeping a sense of humor and wit. May you find some peace and solice in the kind thoughts and wonderful memories we share in recalling Bob.

To the Brandenberger Family: I express my condolences to you on behalf of my brother, Frank Ramsay. Frank and Bob worked together at IBM and were friends for years. Golfing, laughing, jokes, beers, etc. The stories my brother would tell me showed there was a deep friendship there between them and they had fun! Frank passed in 2011. They had many good times together. I am sorry for your loss. Carol (Ramsay) Rinaldi.

Dear Shari, Karen and all of Bob Brandenberger's loved ones, please accept our heartfelt condolences from the Leghorn Family, Glen, Wayne, Dennis and Barry. Bob has been like a fifth brother to the Leghorns since 1961 when he and Barry played on the Trinity basketball team together. In the past 50 years we have the pleasure of Bob's friendship on too many a golf course (from Keney Park, Hartford, to Seanne Cibeal, Dingle, Ireland) to count, along with numerous Trinity football games, and many a card game. Bob was such contagiously good company that we even forgave him for fleecing us out of many a pint and punt during a golfing adventure in Ireland - Bob used his bogusly inflated golf handicap to whup us on many a links course on the Emerald Isle:-). There was something contagious about Bob's full throated laughter, sounded like a gaggle of whooping cranes in mid-flight, that lightened the hearts of all within hearing range. The echo of his laughter and the warmth of his friendship will always be with us, thanks for all the great times, Bob. The attached photo was taken in 2016 when Bob did us the great honor of attending the Bulkeley High School Hall of Fame Ceremony when Wayne and Barry, aka "White Lightning", were inaugurated. Nota Bene, darnnit, if Bob had attended Bulkeley instead of Newington High, Bulkeley would have won the CT State and New England Championships instead of Wilbur Cross!

I met Bob in 1963 when we started at Aetna in Hartford. We became good friends at the getgo, and kept in contact with him when he joined IBM and moved to NY state. My wife and I were close with Bob and Nancy. Later he moved back to the Hartford area. He has been my best friend for over 50 years. News of his sudden passing was truly a shock. The prior week we went to Foxwoods to play poker, which we usually did on Fridays. I last spoke to him two days before his death. He was truly a good man. My heart is out to Shari and Karen. .Rest in peace Bob. I am going to miss you.
