Robert G. Koehler

Robert Gordon Koehler, age 54, entered into eternal rest on December 10, 2020 at Middlesex Hospital due to complications from Covid-19. He was tended to and cared for by hospital staff when his fiance and family could not be by his side. We are ever so grateful for their kindness and grace. Robert was predeceased by his parents, Ralf Gordon Koehler and Dorothy May (Magowan) Koehler. Born in New London, Ct and was raised in Old Saybrook, and attended Old Saybrook Schools. After graduating, he became a Glazier for Tri-State Glass. Rob was an avid dart player, later becoming a captain of an "A" league dart team for The Monkey Farm. This was an area of his life that he truly felt comfortable and loved to play. In 1995, he moved to Germantown, MD and started a dart league in the area, but to be clear it was not darts that was his greatest love. It is the two amazing young men that he fathered. That is where he was the most proud. In 2018, Rob moved back to Ct. with his fiance, so they could be closer to her daughter and her growing family. He is survived by his two sons, Raymond Gardner Koehler and William Harry Koehler of Germantown, MD., his fiance, Tamie Scholhamer of Amston, his sister, Linda and her husband Carl Czech of Colchester, his brother, Ralf Koehler of Old Saybrook, and his sister, Karen and her husband Shawn Perkins of Waterford and extended family. Out of abundance of caution, there will be no immediate services. We are planning a celebration of Robert's life at the family home in Saybrook in July.
