Sheryl, Scott, Suzanne:
Just wanted to add a poem that a friend of a friend gave to me when my dad passed. It was written by one of my working peers...
A father, in so many ways, is very like a tree
Quiet, strong, and always there for one to go and see
A place of shade, and shelter from the storms that life may bring
A place to climb, to hide, to rest, a place to sit and swing
Its limbs are thick and strong, they seem at once both young and old
Its wrinkled bark bears testament to seasons past untold
Quietly, it speaks from strength, as wisdom it imparts
One glance upon its stately form cheers up discouraged hearts
And then there comes the storm that tears security away
As age removes the strength that kept the elements at bay
Even mighty trees obey the ageless laws of time
And all too soon, there, we no longer rest, nor swing, nor climb
It's then, when quietly we turn to kin, to comfort find
That we begin to see the legacy he left behind
Seedlings, saplings, younger trees, and even some full grown
Reflect our father's life, from whose love they all were sown

Sheryl, Suzie, Scott, MaryAnn and families,
"Bob-O" was one of the most fun-loving people I've ever met. Although it had been a good while since our trips, I still miss "fleaing" with him, our infamous trips to Wal Mart, Saturday morning coffee breaks and hanging out having big bowls of ice cream. I think many times we don't realize how our loved ones have touched other's lives--he sure touched mine and I'm very glad I got to know him.
