Robert Turner Obituary

TURNER, Sr., Robert C. Robert C. Turner, Sr., 81, of South Windsor, beloved husband of the late Martha (Fletcher) Turner, died Tuesday (April 24, 2007) at home. He was born in Wyoming, PA on January 23, 1926, and had lived in South Windsor for the last 45 years. Bob was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. Before retiring he was employed by Rockbestos Wire and Cable, Granby, and prior to that for the former Fuller Brush Company. He was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed playing softball. He leaves his children, Robert C. Turner, Jr. of Broad Brook, and Carol E. Turner and husband Stanley Walton of South Windsor; a brother, Richard M. Turner and wife Johanna of Exeter, PA; four grandchildren, Sharon Gietzen and husband Young, and Robert, Richard and Danny Turner; and four great-grandchildren, Cassandra, Sarah, Bryce and Brianna. Funeral service will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor. Burial with military honors will follow in Wapping Cemetery, South Windsor. We are very sorry for your loss. Both Fran and I have fond memories of when we first moved into our house and your Dad gave me the hosta plants that are still so beautiful in my back yard.
