Roland J. Theriault

1930 - 2022

Roland J. Theriault, 92, formerly of Berlin, CT passed away peacefully on October 14, 2022 in Warren, RI. Roland was born on March 26, 1930 in Fort Kent, ME, he was the son of the late Alphonse Sr. and Rose Marie (Paradise) Theriault. He was a proud member of the U.S. Navy, serving active and in the reserves from 1949 – 1956. He worked in the paper industry as a customer service representative and warehouse manager for many years. He was proficient at sports in his early years in life. He bowled for decades competitively and in leagues with his wife Terry. He excelled at pool and horseshoes. He enjoyed watching his favorite team, the New York Yankees, and having family get togethers where they played cards for endless hours. His wife (Terry), to whom he was married to for 67 years was the light and joy of his life. When she passed in 2019, his great grandchildren became his life and he always looked forward to their next visit. When he moved to Rhode Island to live with his son and daughter-in-law, Jesus became extremely important to him and going to church was the highlight of his week. He is survived by his son Bobby Theriault (Cheryl) of Warren, RI; two grandsons Jeremy (Michelle) and Forrest; seven great-grandchildren Alex, Levi, Ayla, Phoebe, Penelope, Philomena and Bernadette, his sisters-in-law, Lillian Theriault Simone Roy and Florence Roy and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Theresa P. (Terry) (St. Jean) Theriault and his brothers Clarence, Willard, Lawrence, Alphonse Jr, Roger Theriault and sister Gerry Mailhot. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 10:00-11:00am at O'Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Bristol followed by a funeral service at 11:00am. Interment with Military Honors will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Plainville.
