NILES, Ruth M. (Stavens) Ruth M. (Stavens) Niles, 91, of Windsor, beloved wife of 56 years to the late Charles H. Niles died Sunday (January 1, 2006). Born March 27, 1914 in Manchester, daughter of the late Andrew and Minnie (Howard) Stavens, she lived in Hartford and Fairfield Counties before moving on to Gaithersburg, MD, retiring to Daytona Beach, FL, and returning to live in Windsor in 2000. She graduated from Manchester High School and attended Morse College of Business. Ruth worked as bookkeeper in retail establishments in Hartford, including G. Fox & Co. She became a semi-professional artist and painter in her later years. She was also an avid golfer, bridge player, and baseball fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers and later the NY Yankees. She is survived by her daughter, Andrea N. Schnure and her husband, Terry of Windsor; three beloved grandchildren, Jonas Atwood and Jonathan Schnure both of Boston, MA and Timothy Schnure of Windsor. She also leaves a dear cousin Dorothy Mayo and family of Suffield; special friends Liz Kramer and family of Florida; and friends and staff at Delamere Woods. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 29 from 5-6 p.m. at the Carmon-Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Avenue, Windsor. A memorial service will take place at 5:45 p.m. with the Rev. James H. Silver, officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Macular Degeneration Foundation, Inc., P.O.
