I miss my dear friend, Sally who I met in our beloved Fiber Sculpture class. I found it difficult to go into the classroom over the past year, while she bravely fought her illness. Each time I hoped to see her beautiful, sunny, smiling face but was sadly disappointed. Still, throughout her struggle over the past long months, Sally continued to be a good friend, texting, emailing & calling when she was able. She had such a brave heart.
So many seem to use the word light when describing Sally. That is apt, as her face emitted a joyous light when she greeted you. Sally, herself, was a bright light in a world that is now dimmed with her passing. Even her artwork that invariably contained shades of blues from the sea, nonetheless, always were full of light. It was such pleasure to share our love (and frustrations) of doing art together. I enjoyed watching as Sally's artwork grew from an amateur's blossoming into a true artist's.
I miss her spirit & that light which she brought into my world & to everyone's world who was lucky enough to come into her sphere. I will hold that light in my heart & always remember her brightness.
