Shirley Glenn Obituary

Shirley Marie (Link) Glenn, 87, of Simsbury, wife of the late Herbert Chester Glenn, died Thursday, June 15, 2017 at her home. She was born January 11, 1930 in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of the late Albert and Florence (Bier) Link, and had lived in Simsbury for the past 49 years. Mrs. Glenn was a Matron for the Simsbury and Avon Police Departments, and the North Central Municipal Narcotics Task Force for many years prior to her retirement in 1988. Shirley enjoyed her genealogy research, and her volleyball, but the true joy of her life were her grandchildren. She is survived by her five children, Kevin Glenn and his wife Annette of Brevard, Kristine Gagnon and her husband Christopher of Simsbury, Keith Glenn and his wife Helen of Westport, Scott Glenn of Simsbury and Eric Glenn of Avon; her grandchildren, Ryan Gagnon, Amy Saunders, Kaitlyn Hill, Andrew Glenn, Shannon Glenn, Nicholas Glenn and Chester Glenn and her great grandchildren, Jayden Hill and Jackson Saunders, along with many nieces and nephews.. There are no calling hours and services will be private. There will be a memorial at the Simsbury Congregational Church at 1pm on July 1, with a gathering afterwards at the Maple Tree Café. The Vincent Funeral Home of Simsbury is caring for the arrangements. Please visit Shirley's "Book of Memories" at www.vincentfuneralhome.com for online condolences.
