Stanislaw Kucharzyk

1949 - 2021

Stanislaw "Stas" Kucharzyk, Age 71, of Rocky Hill, CT, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family and friends, on Tuesday September 28, 2021. Born on December 2, 1949 in Niebylec, Poland, he was the son of the late Franciszek and Maria Kucharzyk. He loved Sudoku and crossword puzzles, singing, and laughing with friends. He was passionate about his faith and his Polish heritage. But above all else, he was devoted to his family. He was married to the love of his life, Grazyna, whom he affectionately called "Gaga", for 46 years, who unselfishly cared for him as his health declined, never leaving his side. A teacher and school administrator before coming to America in 1981, he taught his kids that the American dream is achievable through hard work and a good education, even while he worked nights as a machinist. Unbeknownst to him, this inspired many of their college and graduate school admissions essays. Stas will be forever missed by his beloved wife Grazyna, children Jakub (and Kiley), and Krystian (and Yang Yang), and adoring grandchildren Brody, Dylan and Keanu. He also leaves behind two sisters in Poland, Anna and Zofia, and their families, sisters-in-law, Jolanta and Wiktoria, and brother-in-law, Tadeusz, their families, and many, many friends in Connecticut and Poland. His family will receive close friends on Friday, October 1, 8:30-9:30 a.m., at the Waszkelewicz South Green Memorial Home, 43 Wethersfield Ave., Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., at SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, 55 Charter Oak Ave., Hartford. There will be a private burial ceremony in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Donations in Stas's memory may be made to SS.
