Stephen C. Gentile

1940 - 2020

Stephen C. Gentile age 79, of Lakeland FL, passed away peacefully Saturday January 18, 2020 at Good Shepherd Lakeland Hospice, Lakeland, FL surrounded by his family after a long brave struggle with cancer. He was born November 23, 1940 in Torrington, CT to Stephen and Josephine (Paduano) Gentile. Throughout his life he loved camping with his family up and down the East Coast from Maine to Florida. Always fascinated with race cars he enjoyed NASCAR. Steve was a generous man and was known to help anyone in need. A former resident of Torrington and New Hartford Steve retired to Lakeland FL after working for The Hartford Courant as a District Circulation Manager for 17 years. He leaves behind his partner Ian C. Micciollo of Lakeland FL, his son Mark Gentile (Donna) of Shelton, CT, a brother John Gentile (Bonnie) of Waterbury, his cousin Mary Lou Rayno of New Hartford and many other nieces and nephews. There will be a Memorial Mass at Our Lady of Hope Parish (Immaculate Conception Church), 3 Church Street, New Hartford, CT 06057 on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 11:00AM. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
