Therese "Terry" Marie O'Connor, 69, of Manchester, died Saturday November 3, 2018 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Laurence and Lillian (Conway) O'Connor. She had many years of service in the insurance business, beginning with Connecticut Mutual and retiring from ING, Inc. as a Life Underwriter. Terry truly enjoyed golfing and was a longtime member of Manchester Country Club and recently served on their Board of Directors as Secretary. For many years she was an active member of Zonta International; an organization focused on empowering women. She was a wonderful chef, loved entertaining especially over the holidays, enjoyed traveling, particularly Cape Cod Bay and Jamaica, avid UCONN Women's Basketball fan and truly enjoyed reading. She was an animal lover and throughout her life had countless pets, and leaves behind Winnie and Muddie. She is survived by her siblings, Raymond O'Connor and his partner Carolyn Laurel of Watertown, CT, Kathleen (Kathy) O'Connor of Andover, and Laurence O'Connor of Springfield, MA; her nieces and nephews, Kristin O'Connor and her husband Jared Shows, Elizabeth O'Connor Tickey and her husband Kevin, Danny O'Connor and his wife Mary, Connor Yanicky, Cameron O'Connor Yanicky, and Emma Yanicky, her great-nieces and nephews, Serra Tickey, Laura Tickey, Jimmy O'Connor and Dylan O'Connor; and numerous close friends. She will be truly missed by all. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 11th at 2:00 p.m. at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 12:00-2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jimmy Fund, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute P.O. I was so sorry to hear of Terrys passing. Although I only knew her for a short time in our bridge group I found her to be a very caring woman. It was my privilege to have known her. My condolences to her family.

To know someone almost your whole life you learn a lot about each other. What I learned about my dear friend is that Terry put her whole heart into everything she did. And she did everything with love and gusto... golf, tap dancing, reading, cooking, or watching her favorite British TV shows.
Did she love her yearly trips to the Cape, Jamaica and Ireland, oh you bet she did.
She enjoyed girls night out with friends.
I will miss our fun vacations and talks about everything and nothing.
Terry I will miss your passion for everything from sports, to politics, to cooking, and your beloved pets. But most of all your love and dedication to your family and friends.
I will not say goodbye, I will just say I know we will meet again!

Terry was a fun person who I had the pleasure of working with at the Knights of Columbus. We always had a great time at our dinner club. Im glad we were able to get together for lunch since our retirements. My sympathies to the family

I'll cherish all the great memories of Terry in the kitchen cooking up fabulous meals for St. Patty's day, Christmas day, or any occasion. She loved to cook, and when she was in the kitchen you knew you were in for a real treat. We had great times at the Cape, Jamaica, and Ireland. She lived a very full life and did so much for her family! My thoughts are with the O'Connor family.
