Thomas Barrows Obituary

Thomas Farrell Barrows, 63, of Corinth, VT, formerly of West Hartford, CT passed away peacefully November 16, 2022 after a diagnosis of cancer. A 1978 graduate of Hall High School, Tom immediately began his 35 year machinist career at Hamilton Standard in Windsor Locks, CT, retiring in 2013. A sportsman at heart & ability, Tom loved playing the sport-of-the-season with his brothers, friends, nephews & nieces throughout his life. An avid rugby player & talker, he would strike-up conversation, often while grilling, of his latest match with the Springfield Rugby Club. An incredible skier, he skied many of North America's toughest slopes that many would try but few could follow. He would always return though to his favorite slopes at Mad River Glen, Mount Ellen, Sugarbush, & then to his beloved Vermont home. Son of the late Jack & Ann Barrows & brother to the late Bill Barrows, Tom is survived by brothers Steven, Kenneth, & John, brother-in law Martin Blair, sister-in-law Kelly Krueger, many nephews & nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles, best friend Scott Larkin of 34 years & many more friends. The family wishes to thank the gracious staff of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center for their care of Tom & encourages donations to the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative & Hospice Care.

Tom was an old rugby friend of mine. We called him Beav. Tom was a good friend and a good rugby player. It was said tackling Beav was like tackling a rusty mailbox. Rest is peace old friend.
