Tom was one of the kindest men around. I'm truely so sorry not to have made the wake, I was in the hospital and that's the only thing that kept me away. I did the Gemmell land scaping shirts for years and also Southington football. He never just picked up an order, he always smiled and listened to me talk or complain, whatever was on for that day. One day he even put my clothes from the washer to the dryer down cellar because I had seen a mouse. The boys are the same type of man and he was so proud of them. You both did a wonderful job. I will miss seeing that truck pull up to mow and that friendly smile. The time ahead will be hard but the boys will make it a little easier because their father was truely a Gentle Man.

Dear Gemmell family,
Although I didn't know Tom well, I certainly knew of him and saw him many times over the years throughout town - mostly during his landscaping days. I remember him and his family living on MIddletown Road. My heart goes out to all of you as you process his death and the journey you now walk without him. Know that he is with you every step of the way and for some reason, God needed him at this moment. As sudden a death as his, be grateful that he was spared the suffering of cancer, alzheimers, being paralyzed - they say that the good die young. You will forever have an angel watching over you - I'm sure his mom welcomed him with open arms - a happy day in heaven for sure.
Take care of each other and I hope that all the memories sustain you in the days ahead.

Sincerely,

Chris

To all of the Gemmell Family,
It is with shock and sadness I learn of Tom's passing. I have always enjoyed talking with him whenever I would run into him (which recently was usually at Mickey Finns). I remember him when he was growing up and living on Middletown Rd. One special memory I have is going to a Beach Boys Concert with him and Jim. I extend my deepest sympathy and hold you all in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult and painful time. May God comfort you and give you peace and strength as you deal with your loss of Tom who was a blessing to so many.

Allan, I pray you will find peace with the loss of your son. No parent should ever see their child pass before them, somehow it seems to disrupt the scheme of things. May God watch over you and your family as the mourn the loss of a loved one, and fill you with the peace on earth that Thomas finds in heaven. May He touch your life as you touched mine.
