KROMPINGER, Warren Julius Warren Julius Krompinger passed away peacefully at home, the day before his 85th birthday, Friday (November 10, 2006). He was the husband of Sara (Castruccio) Krompinger. He was born Nov. 11, 1921, in Newark, NJ, son of the late Julius and Irene (Kaptain) Krompinger. He worked as a manger with Gulf Oil running their terminals in New Haven and Staten Island, New York. Upon his retirement, he joined fellow oil company representatives to serve on the Clean Harbor commission for the city of New York. He was a World War II veteran serving as an Army Air Force photographer on the island of Tinian in the South Pacific. He had a great love for small crafts especially ship building and enjoyed fixing things himself. He was a highly ethical and religious man, a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church in Plainville. Beside his devoted wife Sara of 58 years, he leaves his sons: W. Jay Krompinger and his wife Paula of West Hartford, Kenneth Krompinger of New York City, Richard Krompinger and his wife Donna of Holbrook, NY; five grandchildren: Jason Krompinger and his wife Rachel of Philadelphia, PA, Scott Krompinger of Hoboken, NJ, Keith Krompinger of West Hartford, Ricky and Sam Krompinger of Holbrook, NY; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Ernest Krompinger. The funeral will be held Tuesday, 10 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., to Our Lady of Mercy Church, 94 Broad St., Plainville for a Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will follow with Military Honors at St. Peter's Cemetery, Danbury.
