I just came across something referencing the "late" William Glazer. I had no idea. I did not know him well, but will never forget an act of kindness he did for me. I was a resident at UCONN and I believe he gave a lecture there which must be how I met him. I do not know exactly how it came about, but he offered to do a "practice run" on the oral boards for me. Again, details elude me as it was over 30 years ago. All I remember is that he helped me tremendously, asking questions, giving me cases, and generally preparing me for my oral boards - which I passed on the first attempt. I was always grateful that he volunteered his precious time and helped launch my career in psychiatry which I still love to this day. I will always remember that kindness.

Please accept my warmest regards to you and family. My wife Pam and I spent such a wonderful vacation in Martha's Vineyard last year so we know the joy it brought you especially as a family. I met Bill in Key West in a yoga class. We hit it off immediately and shared many memorable moments both in class and walking our dogs - his Murray and my Paco. He helped me through the loss of my husband as well as our neighbor , Lila. Bill was so very special and was never hesitant to share his love and expertise. It was so easy to love him, to just chat, to laugh with him. I am a better person for having known and loved him. Thank you, Bill and thank you Roz for sharing him.

Bill and I go back to the 60's. He was the most joyous, ebullient member of our high school and college partying squad of Starks, Fast George, Piacente
and myself. He had just the right words to put us in to outrageous situations. We accepted that he was also an intellectual talent.
When Bill and Roz celebrated their wedding it was clear they found their soul mates. Such happiness.
Many thanks to Roz for sharing her best friend Mary with me, as we married in 1980. She and I and her 4 kids had a marvelous 13 years together until God called her in 1993. p.s Roz, mourning is awfully difficult.
Best wishes to the entire family.

I was very saddened to hear of Bill's passing. We were friends while he was going to Yale and I was just out of the Air Force, and working as a stage manager, so we saw a lot of concerts back in the early 70's and shared a lot of laughs and good times. All the best in your time of loss to his family.

I am shocked and deeply saddened to learn of Bills death. I had the pleasure of working with Bill when he was at Yale/CMHC. He was not just a terrific doctor he was a great person. I will never forget the time he rode on the back of my motorcycle making a home visit to one of our patients. My deepest condolensces to Roz and all of his family. What a tragic loss at such a young age.

Like Nancy Jordan, I was a high school classmate of Bill's, and I too am deeply saddened to learn of his passing. His warmth, wit, and keen insight were hallmarks of his classroom involvement. What a loss for his family and colleagues; may his signature traits be part of the legacy that he leaves to his five grandchildren, who, I am sure, will miss him greatly. -Rosemary Powers Walcott

My heartfelt sympathy to all the Glazer family. Bill and I were classmates in junior high and high school, and I remember him well: so intelligent and witty, and so kind and helpful too, with a good word and a big smile for everyone. I was not at all surprised to read of his extraordinary accomplishments in the medical profession and in psychiatric teaching and research. May his memory be a blessing to his family, friends, colleagues, and patients.

Harry, Dan, Roz and family,

Bill was very much a part of my life growing up in Newington. Our families were very close and did things together, even renting a cottage at the shore one summer. At a young age, he knew he wanted to be a Doctor, and I admired him for living his dream. He found great joy in his family, and especially loved playing army with his grandchildren. I loved seeing the photos and videos he would post for his friends to see of the Menemsha army, with himself as the two star general and his grandchildren as his troops. In all his seriousness, Bill was a kid at heart. He lived life to the fullest and will live on through the memories we all have of him.

I am so sorry for your loss.

Love,
Laurie
