William Wu Obituary

William (Quong) Wu, of Orange, died peacefully with his family at his side on Monday (January 14, 2002). Born in New Haven on August 22, 1923 to Gim and Lau Shee Wu, he was married to Jade (Lee) Wu. A graduate of the University of Connecticut, he was an aerospace engineer for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, Hamilton Standard and Sikorsky Aircraft for over 40 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, five sons, and their spouses, Elaine and Daniel Grunberg of Lexington, MA, James and Elizabeth Wu of Litchfield, Thomas and Celia Wu of Hong Kong, John and Sharon Wu of Ann Arbor, MI, Michael and Patricia Wu of Canton, Raymond and Sharon Wu of Los Angeles, CA. He is also survived by four sisters, Lily Wu of New Haven, Bella Lee of Catonsville, MD, May Wong of Timonium, MD, and Carolyn Wu of New Haven. He was predeceased by his brother, George Wu, of North Haven. He had 16 grandchildren, Jana Wu, Leah Wu, Thomas Wu, Lora Wu, Teresa Wu, Ana Wu, William Wu, Meredith Wu, Sarah Wu, Christina Wu, Catharine Wu, Jessica Wu, Emily Wu, Rebecca Grunberg, Ted Grunberg, and Thompson Wu. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Sisk Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Avenue, Hamden, Friday, 4:30-7:30 p.m. A memorial service will take place Saturday, 11 a.m at the Orange Congregational Church, 205 Meetinghouse Lane, on the Orange town green, with burial immediately following at the Orange Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the William Wu Memorial Scholarship. Checks may be made out to "Amity Regional School District No. 5 Scholarship Fund" and sent to the Amity Regional School District #5 Scholarship Fund, Attn: Finance Dept., 25 Newton Rd., Woodbridge, 06525.
