McCLURE, Winthrop H.
Winthrop H. (Dutch) McClure passed away suddenly on August 1, 2011 at his cottage at Old Lyme Shores with his loving wife by his side. Born in Sumatra, Indonesia, he grew up in West Hartford Ct, before residing in New Jersey. In 1999 Dutch and his wife Eileen moved to Four Seasons located in Columbus, NJ. He was a graduate of Hall High School and Fordham University. After college, Dutch served with The United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1957 with the rank of 1st Lieutenant. He received his MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Dutch was employed with Uniflow Mfg Co. as their regional sales manager and retired in 1998 after 36 years of dedicated service. He was a proud parishioner of St. Mary's Church, a charter member of the Four Seasons chorus, and was an avid NY Giant's and NY Yankees fan. But the greatest joy in Dutch's life was spending time with his family and friends; especially the summers in Old Lyme or at the "club house" of Four Seasons. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, caring friend, and will be missed by many. The son of the late Winthrop H. Sr. and Leona (Brady) McClure, he is predeceased by his son Winthrop (Mickey) McClure. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Eileen Griffith McClure of Four Seasons, his three daughters, Mary Beth Pokusa of Cinnaminson, Ellen Coughlin of West Caldwell, Colleen DeTurk of Wilmington, De., his daughter-in-law, Laura Fitzgerald McClure of Londonderry, NH., his eleven grandchildren.
