Zak was such a blessing to my husband and his family - I just feel lucky to have "married in," and had the opportunity to know Zak. He lived life on the right path. His outlook and optimism will be dearly missed. We love you, Zak!

I am truly blessed to have been able to call Zak my friend of 17 years. We met at GW my freshman year and he had a great impact on my life as he did with so many other students. He was one of the most kind-hearted, caring, thoughtful and generous souls I have ever known. Although he was an incredibly hard worker, Zak was also a fun-loving man who was always quick to light up the room with his smile and laugh. In many ways, he was “Mr. DC” having safely escorted innumerable dignitaries, politicians and clients through the thoroughfares and streets of his hometown of Washington DC.
As was his nature, Zak did countless favors for me: helping me run my first marathon, procuring tickets for me to a presidential inauguration, ensuring that all 15 members of my family were safely escorted to and from GW's graduation, acting as a groomsman in my wedding, just to name a few. I know that many others experienced Zak's generosity as I witnessed it firsthand. He took such a joy from helping others and I truly regret not doing more for him.
He was a wonderfully spiritual person and I am confident that he is enjoying heaven with a smile, a laugh and a conversation as only Zak could. You are deeply missed, my brother, and I am so thankful for the wonderful times we shared together.

Unforgetable that's wat you are ! Forever 4always love you !

My Brother, I thank God for the times we had to share, I miss the times we could have had & miss the times we didn't have.
I am sorry we couldn't be there , but Lisa & I did try, we had planned to come, but it didn't work in our favor. God has all the answers & knows the reasons why.
We miss you & we love you. Because you mean so much; love is a special word, rich with meaning, overflowing in thought. If all the world had brothers or a friend as wonderful as you, there would be a lot of happy people & proud one's too ! There is a kind of love that comforts you when ever you feel blue, a kind of love that helps you out & always see's you through. There's a kind of love that's gentle & yet so very strong, a kind of love that's on your scale whenever things go wrong. There's a kind a love that always makes you feel that you belong . The kind of Love that Jesus gave, Love that's without limits forever & forever so strong !

Zak was a dear friend and I will miss him greatly. He had such a positive view of life and always gave God praise no matter what happened. "Not me - all Him." was what he would tell me. Zak imparted so much wisdom to me over the years and I loved his take on life. "Living the Blessing." is what he would say even when things were not going his way. I know that now he is "living the blessing" with his family and friends in heaven. We love you, Zak! Enjoy your reward!!

Dear Zak,
You befriended our son and helped him through the loneliness of his first extended stay away from home, then you adopted our family and blessed us with your wit and prayers. Your quiet faith and encouragement will be greatly missed.
Thank you for being a part of our lives.

My Dear Friend, you do not know how much I'm missing you now. I've just re-read all of the emails that you've sent me and my favorite ends with "I love you more than I have words to express" that means so much to me. You were such a part of the "Chaplin" family. Rest in Peace my friend, until we meet again. Love you more! Sue Chaplin

To the Family,
I found Zak to be a great man. My many conversations with him as we planned trips always left me feeling confident and reassured that he would give his best in everything he did. I greatly admired that about him. Even though we lost touch over time, he was in Richmond one day and remembered me and we had a wonderful talk.
Your loss is heaven's gain. I can imagine his smile as God welcomed him into eternal peace.
I pray that God continues to bless you and the memory of Zak. He may be gone, but he will never be forgotten. Even though you loved him most, God loved him best. Peace and blessings.
We'll meet again someday Zak -- on the other shore.

Zak was a wonderful person and we will miss him very, very much. We always reached to Zak when we were traveling to Washington to get us where we needed to be. He was always prompt and courteous. He was a true gentlemen and very conscientious.

Boyd, I'm missing you already; but I know the party is ON with dad, mom, Archie and all our relatives, roasting the hog in a true Bahamian Homecoming!
