Marcus Burkhalter Obituary
Purvis
Services for Mr. Marcus T. Burkhalter, age 83, of Purvis, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Hattiesburg chapel of Jones and Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Burkhalter Cemetery.
Mr. Burkhalter served as pastor and teacher of the Full Gospel Jesus Name Church in Purvis and was retired from the maintenance department at the University of Southern Mississippi.
He is survived by his wife, Joy Burkhalter; daughters, Martha Anding and Wanda Rowell, both of Sanford, MS; sons, William "Bill" Burkhalter and Jerry Burkhalter, both of Purvis; his brothers, Hayward Burkhalter, Charles Burkhalter, and Jimmy Burkhalter; his sisters, Jenice McRaney, Hazel Grantham, Janet Burkhalter, and Mildred Burge. He also leaves behind 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Burkhalter will be held from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at Jones and Son Funeral Home in Hattiesburg.
