Marcus Shoemake Obituary
Ovett
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 19 at Mt. Olive Unitied Methodist Church for Mr. Marcus Shoemake, 83, of Ovett, who passed away December 15, 2012, at Perry County General Hospital. Rev. Rodney Smith and Rev. Tim Beard will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Eric Tisdale, Garrett Peterson, Kenny Rollin, Tim White, Mike Shows, Mike Shoemake and Steve White as honorary.
Mr. Shoemake was a member of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church, a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War and the recipient of two Bronze Stars for heroism in combat. He was a member of VFW Post 3036 and was a farmer and a trucking manager for White Brothers Trucking Co. in Hattiesburg for twenty-five years.
Surviving him are his wife, Elizabeth Shoemake of Ovett; daughters, Amendia Netto of Hattiesburg, Gail Peterson of Petal, Sandy Smith and husband Lynn of Petal, Sue Crabtree and husband Ted of Ovett; grandchildren, Randi Crabtree of Little Rock, AR, Garrett Peterson of Camp LeJuene, NC, Ethan Smith and Rachel Smith of Petal; sisters, Venita White of Trussville, AL and Bernice English of Raleigh, NC and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 18 at Jones & Son Funeral Home in Richton. Memorials may be made to Gideon's International.

We are so sorry to hear of Mr. Marcus's passing. He was such a special person and a wonderful friend to our family. We can never say enough kind words to thank him for the wonderful things he did for my Daddy, Robert Dewease. They are having a wonderful reunion in heaven!! We will be praying for Mrs. Elizabeth and the whole family!! God Bless you and give you peace!
