Darryl Lynn Heller

Darryl Lynn Heller (nickname Reno), 81, of Lake Havasu City died peacefully on July 5, 2024.
Darryl was born and raised in Roseau, Minnesota, where he and his fellow Roseau Rams hockey team won the State Championship in 1959. In fact, they still hold the State record for an undefeated season. The team picture, hockey equipment and other memorabilia are displayed at the Roseau County Museum. Darryl went on to play Center for the Roseau Cloverleafs Hockey Team.
Darryl graduated from Brown's Institute in the Twin Cities, where he majored in Electronics and Computer Science. He had a long and varied career; at Boeing Corporation, planted missiles for the Minutemen Missile Program, during the Cuban Missile Crisis, and worked at Control Data Corporation in Research and Development, where he won awards on computer components that were used at NASA.
Darryl drove semi-truck for various oil companies in Northern Alaska and also for Polaris and Byfuglien Trucking Company.
After "retiring" from CDC, Darryl and his wife, Norma owned and operated the Cedarwood Motel in Pine River, MN, while concurrently running a beach restoration business.
Darryl and Norma moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona, where he enjoyed riding 4-wheeler, hunting and fishing with his buddies. He was considered crack shot and his love for the outdoors was passed on to his children.
Darryl's legacy of kindness, generosity and honor will forever live in the hearts of those that were lucky enough to know him.
Darryl is preceded in death by; his father, Alfred Heller, Mother, Dorothy Heller (Dokken), raised by Mervin and Evelyn Dokken, and the mother of his children, Bonnie Heller (Hoffman).
Darryl will be deeply missed by; his wife, Norma Heller, children; Michael (Cindy) Heller, Darin (Heather) Heller and Becky Heller. Siblings; Marlys Horvath (Joe) and Mark Dokken (Lynette). Darryl will also be missed by his many grandchildren, stepchildren, cousins and friends.
Another one of our "Old Guard" is in heaven.
