Jean Rivello Obituary

Jean Marie Rivello, née Kelly (Mom) was born on April 11, 1935 to John F. Kelly and Lillian B. Holmes. Mom was one of two twin girls (Joan) born to the Kelly Family. She also had an older sister, Eileen. Mom had many fun (and sometimes mischievous) adventures with her twin sister. Mom grew up in Los Ange-les and later attended Washington High School where she met her future husband, George Anthony Rivello. The two fell in love and married on July 25, 1953. They were married 70 years and 6 months. Their marriage produced seven children: Susan, Karen (Terry), Joseph (Kisha), Diane (Walt), George Jr (Karen), Mary (Brian), and Anthony (Tonya). In addition, they have 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Dad worked as a commercial plumber and Project Manager for Pierce Engineering in Los Angeles while Mom stayed home and managed a busy household of seven children. There was always dinner on the table for the family along with family events and special traditions that are still carried on today. Mom was truly a Proverbs 31 wife and mother. When Dad retired in 1979 they moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Dad built their home in Lake Havasu from the ground up. He and Mom lived there until moving to assisted living in 2023. Dad and Mom attended Lakeview Community Church. Mom was a committed believing Christian who had placed her faith in Jesus Christ. Mom was the model of Chris-tian virtue, extolling love, kindness, patience, and forgiveness to all as her Savior asked. She was adamant in her faith and her dedication to our Lord Jesus up until her passing. Mom never wavered or com-promised her faith in Jesus. Mom went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 6, 2025. She is predeceased by her mother, sister Eileen, and Dad. Mom leaves behind all her children and their spouses, all 18 grandchildren and her 15 great grandchildren. Mom was the matriarch and loving example to her large family who loved her dearly. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
