Charlotte McKibben Obituary

Charlotte McKibben moved on to be with her husband, Damon, and twin brother, Sherman Gardner, on May 25, 2008. She was 87 years old.

She is survived by a sister, LaVelle, in California; a son, Galen; a daughter, Marilyn; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many, many loving friends.

Charlotte was born to Alfred and Minnie Bunch Gardner on Feb. 4, 1921, in Huntington, Ore. She married at age 16, and spent her life caring for others. She was a full partner with her husband, Damon, in a beekeeping business, that at one time counted 10,000 colonies of bees, spread throughout eastern Montana, western North and South Dakota and northern Wyoming. She was a quilt-top maker for her church, creating a minimum of 100 quilt tops each year for many years.

She was a loving, generous mother and a friend to all she met. She will be missed.

A memorial service for Charlotte will be held at the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Monday, June 2, at 10 a.m.

Marilyn and family--It's a sad day! Good for your parents, together again, but hard for all of us left behind. We enjoyed your Mom whenever we ran into the two of you and you did such a great job taking care of her in these last years. We are thinking of you and sending our love and prayers.

Dear Marilyn and McKibben Family
My thoughts and prayers and with you as I think of your dear, dear Mom. Kind, sweet and generous are my recall of her.
The stocking monkey she made for our new baby Josh some 26 years ago is now a treasured snuggly sleep companion of our 3 year old grandson. The Monkey still has all his eyes and parts! She did good!!! And then that wonderful honey!!! She made her mark in this world in so many ways!
With love and Hugs to you
