Sherri Hanson Obituary
She was born November 7, 1958 in Tulsa to Charles Edward Strain, Sr. and Donna June (Hampton)
Strain. She graduated from Beggs High School and on August 17, 1979, she married Ronald Leon
"Butch" Hanson at the First Baptist Church in Beggs. For many years Sherri worked as a teller at Triad
Bank. Her and Butch loved traveling and especially liked trying hole in the wall restaurants. She
enjoyed crafting, lighthouses and angels. Most of all, Sherri will be remembered for the way she loved
her family so unconditionally.
Preceding her in death was her husband, father, step-father, Melvin Davis, a brother, Charles Edward
Strain, Jr. and a sister-in-law, Rhonda Hopper.
Survivors include her daughter, Tara Lynne Hanson, son, Todd Leon Hanson and wife Whitney, her
mother, Donna Strain, grandchildren, Rylie, Laney, Kylan, Penelope "Penny" and Tripp, sisters,
Chiquita Walls, Deborah Henderson and Robin Hamilton and husband David, brothers-in-law, Dennis
Melton and wife Betty, Danny Melton and wife Suzie and Dickie Melton and wife Nancy and numerous
nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held from 2:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 8, 2025 at the McClendon-Winters
Funeral Home in Beggs.
A Memorial Service to honor Sherri's Life will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, June 9, 2025 at the
McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel in Okmulgee. Reverend David Hamilton will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to help with Sherri's final
expenses.
