CLARENCE HICKS Obituary

CLARENCE RAY HICKS, 97, of Milton passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington. Funeral service will be conducted at noon Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with the Rev. Chelcie Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Bias Chapel Cemetery. He was born April 23, 1917, a son of the late Oscar Lee and Louiza Victoria Searls Hicks. He was also preceded in death by his wife Irene Hicks; two brothers, John C. and Freemont Hicks; and five sisters, Elsie Hayes, Theresa Lewis, Juanita Templeton, Mola Ashworth and Beulah Powell. Mr. Hicks served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Philippines. He is survived by one daughter, Linda (Lee) Radcliff; two sons, Steve Hicks and special friend Sue Martina, and Gary (Judy) Hicks; two granddaughters, Stephanie Weingart and Sherry and John Davis; one grandson, Shane and Jennifer Radcliff; six great-grandchildren, Jordan Wilson, Courtney Wilson, Noah Weingart, Samantha Davis, Ian Radcliff and Taylor Radcliff. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 24 at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.heckfuneralhome.com.
