David Glick Obituary

December 27, 1941 - September 27, 2025
DAVID ALLEN GLICK, 83, of Huntington, West Virginia, passed away on September 27, 2025.
Born December 27, 1941, to the late Jack and Mirian Glick, David was a lifelong Huntington resident who poured his heart into his family, community, and faith. He was co-owner of Star Furniture Company until 1989, then found his passion in sales at Kindred Communications. David also devoted fifty years to coaching League 3, Little League Baseball, was a faithful supporter of Marshall University athletics, and a proud member of B'nai Shalom Congregation. Of all his joys, cheering for his grandsons was his greatest.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Karen May Glick (1997), his sister, Joanne Levey (1996), and his parents, Jack and Miriam Cohen Glick.
He is survived by his daughter Shelley Stewart (Timmy); grandsons Jackson and Brody; his double cousin Billy Glick (Brenda); cousins, nephews, and extended family.
Friends may call Monday, September 29, 2025 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary. Service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at B'nai Sholom Congregation by Rabbi Robert D. Judd. Interment will follow in the B'nai Isreal Section at Spring Hill Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy maybe made to League 3, Little League Baseball or Hospice of Huntington.

Earlier today

I am saddened to see David Glick´s passing. I didn´t know Mr Glick personally, but I saw him many times while working at Pied Piper Music on 3rd Ave. He was so pleasant, always smiling, always saying hello to everyone, making you feel like an old friend. My mother knew him from when she worked at Fedder Furniture years ago, right after moving to Huntington, so she got to know many Huntington merchants. She always spoke very highly of Mr Glick and his family, saying "David was always so friendly! Always smiling!" Huntington has lost a true son, and we could all take a page out of Mr Glick´s book.. Treat everyone like an old friend. Sending my deepest sympathy.

My father was a customer of Star Furniture and David was always so welcoming. The entire Glick family was so nice. Shalom to David and may he rest in peace.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. David will be spoke of far better than by this humble tribute's attempt to a dear pen pal and lifelong mentor, true pillar of the community and caring friend, genuine role model, devoted to all he loved. Sending deepest sympathies to all of David´s family and countless friends, whose lives his Love and Shalom enriched profoundly.

Could not have had a better home town friend. Started with our sandlot baseball games at the Arch, League Two baseball at St. Clouds, teenage dances at the Marshall Student Union, Riverside dances during the summers, following the Reds through good times and bad, hot dogs at the Frostop, and many, many visits with David and Karen, and cousin Billy, when Barbara and I returned to Huntington to spend time with family and friends.
David was truly a "gentle" man. His welcoming smile and caring personality are his legacy to those of us who knew.
