David Jordan Obituary

DAVID E. JORDAN SR. went peacefully to our Lord on Thursday, July 24, 2025.
Born on December 22, 1938 in Huntington, West Virginia to Guy and Jeanette Jordan, "Dave" was a wonderful husband to Virginia "Ginger", devoted father to David E Jordan Jr and Gregory S Jordan, grandfather to Daniel, Benjamin and Bradley Jordan, father-in-law to Brenda and Natalie and great grandfather to Samual, Issac and Luke.
Dave was proud to be an American from West Virginia that dutifully served our country as a Captain in the United States Army, Artillery Division.
From his humbled beginnings in Ona, West Virginia, Dave graduated in 1956 from Milton High School where he met his beloved Ginger. They married in 1958 and welcomed their first son David Jr. in 1960. In 1961, David proudly graduated from Marshall University in Huntington, WV with a degree in chemistry and through the ROTC program. Dave then went on to serve in the Army at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma and Army reserves 4as Captain and a member of the Pershing Rifle Corp.
After serving our country, Dave's career took him from Union Carbide in Charleston, WV to BF Goodrich in Akron, OH. Dave moved the family to Wadsworth in 1968 where he became very involved with his boys school and extracurricular activities such as Boy Scouts and the Wadsworth High School Marching Band. All the while he furthered his career as Plant Manager at Trexler in Ravenna and retired from Sherwin Williams in Medina.
Some of his proudest moments were when the boys performed at the high school band competitions and Dave drove the instrument van. He enjoyed volunteering for the band so much that he continued to do so after both boys had graduated.
Dave is preceded in death by his parents, his eldest son, David Jr. and loving wife, Ginger of sixty-two years. He is survived by his son Gregory Jordan, his daughter in laws Natalie and Brenda, grandsons Daniel, Benjamin and Bradley and the great grandsons Samual, Issac and Luke.

We were so sorry to hear of his passing, he will be missed. We knew him through Ben, our son-in-law. We met him several times, and he seemed like such a very nice person, very friendly and had a great memory.
