JOY R. HAMPTON DORSEY, 83, of Kenova, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at her residence. Memorial service will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, September 25, 2016, at the First Baptist Church of Kenova, where she was a longtime member, with Pastor Steve Willis and her son, Joe Dorsey, officiating. Joy was born February 13, 1933, in Wayne County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Oscar and Gracie Noe Hampton. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by one son, John Andrew Dorsey; sister, Ida Virginia Hampton Rife; and two brothers, Garth Hampton and Archie Hampton. Survivors include her beloved husband, Charles "Richie" Dorsey; four children and their spouses, Rickie Sizemore (Roger), Ida Smith (Stan), Joe Dorsey (Nancy) and Kelly Napier (Chester); grandchildren, Ginger Sergent (Brad), Christopher Sizemore (Mycah), Nikki Shannon, Brittany Shannon, Cole Smith, Jett Smith, Rachel Brumfield (Jason), Jake Dorsey (Elisha), Jenna Traube (Dave), Mandy Muncy (Ray) and Kristen Hallett (Mark); 10 great-grandchildren; special "daughter," Sonja Ferguson Money and "sissy" Paula Hampton Dickerson. The family wishes to thank Dr. Gerrit Kimmey and his staff, Hospice of Huntington and Hospice nurse Sandy Smith.
