Kenny was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. His Christian influence touched many lives. Kenny was a member of the Greasy Ridge Church of Christ, Chesapeake, Ohio. He worked at the Ohio Power Company for 14 years. In 1978, he and Jeannie purchased W and F Distributors. He was also owner operator of K and T Trucking. During the years many fond memories were made at the Citgo station. Kenny always made sure everyone could have a cup of coffee and spent time telling tales and fellowshipping at the gas station. He has served several years on the Lawrence County Educational Service Center as a board member. He was an Army Reserve veteran and member of the Crown City Masonic Lodge #536. In addition to Jeannie, his wife of 52 years, he is survived by his son Tim (Pam) Shafer of Proctorville; one grandson, Brandon Shafer of Culloden, W.Va.; one sister, Vivian Bragg of Proctorville, Ohio; his close friends Frank Harmon and Gale Spears; along with several nieces, nephews and a host of many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers Marshall Turner, James "Buck," Lloyd "Jim" and Curtis "Brownie" Shafer; and two sisters, Opal Corn and Juanita King. Pallbearers will be Troopers of the Ohio Highway Patrol. The family wishes to express their many thanks to the staff of the Hospice House and a very special thank you to Dr. Melin Moses. He was not only Kenny's physician but a very dear friend. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington, W.Va.
