Mildred Perry Obituary

MILDRED NIDAY PERRY, born Feb 20, 1939, passed away peacefully on July 2nd at the Wyngate Assisted Living Home in Proctorville, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of nearly 66 years, Carl Perry, who passed away in February at the family's home in Chesapeake. Mildred was the daughter of Glen and Kathryn Niday of Huntington WV, and she was the last remaining sibling of 10 brothers and sisters that passed on before her.
She is survived by her son, Mark (Melody) of Sunset Beach NC; two grandchildren, Madison of Wilmington NC and Hayden of Charlottesville VA, as well as several nephews and nieces that loved her dearly. Mildred taught Children's Church for more than 40 years at First Baptist Church, Proctorville, and she was a founding members of the church daycare center known as Kinder-Kare. During her years at Kinder-Kare she touched many young lives of the children she cared for, and she truly loved each and every one of those children as if they were her own.
Mildred's influence and nurturing would continue to be reflected in those young lives for many years to come as they grew into adults having families of their own.
Proverbs 31: 10-31 highlights the many traits of a Virtuous Woman that include being of noble character, with wisdom and strength, as well as having deep love and devotion to her family, her husband and to God.
Mildred was all of those things and more. She will be greatly missed by her family and by all who knew her, but she will live on through her testimony and witness for God, and in the hearts of the many children and their families that she loved and cared for throughout her life.
Funeral services were previously held by Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, OH. Burial was at Rome Cemetery in Proctorville, OH.

Only good things come to mind when thinking of Mildred and Carl. They raised their son Mark in our neighborhood & he was one of my brothers bf´s. Spending time at their house as a child was a treat! I´m can hear the happy gospel songs playing now. Mildred was definitely a nurturer and loved God, her family and anyone she met was blessed by her smile. Sorry to Mark & those that loved her, for their loss.

I will cherish my memories of Mildred and Carl as I felt their love for me and constant encouragement from a young age that continued through my adulthood Mildred was the kindest soul and a Godly loving woman. Thrilled and is at peace and comforted in heaven with her husband and family that preceded her. She and her dear husband will always have a special place in my heart Love you Mildred will see you in heaven!

Miss Perry as all of her kids at Kinder Kate affectionately called her, was simply the best!! Both of my daughters loved her dearly and so did we. She gave her love to all the kids, played ball with them and cared about all of them. Sincere sympathy to her family and prayers of comfort. John and Brenda Tanner
