Robert B. Chambers

ROBERT B. "BOB" CHAMBERS, 86, of Huntington, West Virginia, husband of Patricia Ann Maynard Chambers, went to be with Jesus Monday February 17, 2025. He was born July 28, 1938, in Matewan WV, a son of the late Howard and Virginia Compton Chambers. He was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine "Gerri" Dotson Chambers, his mother Virginia Chambers, and his father Howard Chambers, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walter and Janice Maynard and his nephew Sgt. Cory Maynard of the West Virginia State Police.
He was a proud graduate of Marshall University. He was a teacher in Mingo County WV, and then spent over 40 years in several different roles including counselor and administrator with Vocational Rehabilitation in West Virginia. He touched many lives in his pursuit of helping people in his role at Vocational Rehabilitation.
Bob was able to retire early and spent 20 years volunteering at St. Mary's Medical Center working the coffee cart and volunteering in the gift shop. He enjoyed this because he became friends with so many people. The family would like to express a deep appreciation to his many friends and the value these friendships meant to our Dad.
He is survived by his loving wife Patricia "Pat" Chambers, his children Todd Chambers M.D. (Jane) of Knoxville TN, grandchildren Katie Gagel (Justin), great-grandchildren Chandler and Felicity, Mandy Dunbar (Derek), great grandchild Kai and Michael Chambers; Mark Chambers (Kim) of Huntington WV, grandchildren Zach and Andrew; Beth Galloway (Jim) of Chesapeake OH, grandchildren Brooke Galloway, Joseph Galloway (Courtney), great-grandchildren Jameson and Remi, Annie Galloway and Jack Galloway; Steve Chambers (April) of Wilmington NC, grandchildren Stevie and Scout.
Bob is also survived by his close brother and friend Mike Chambers (Ruby) of Shelbyville, KY, and their children Kelly, Kirby and Kara, their spouses, children, grandchildren and many other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted by his grandson, Michael Chambers. Visitation is from 11:30 a.m. until service time 1 p.m. Saturday, 2/22/25 at Norway Avenue Church of Christ. Reger Funeral Home, Huntington, is assisting the family with arrangements.
