RONALD F. DAVIS

RONALD F. DAVIS, 69, of Hurricane, passed away Friday, May 12, 2017, at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, W.Va. "Ron," as he was called by family and friends, was born in Huntington and was a son of the late Ernest Franklin Davis and Juanita Lois McCallister. He was a graduate of Hurricane High School, class of 1965. Following high school, Ron served his country in the United States Air Force in Vietnam from 1966-1970. Ron is widely known by his career as a driver with UPS, a job he retired from after 33 years of dedicated service. During his tenure with the company, he was awarded the 25 year Safe Driving Award. Ron was also a member of the Putnam Masonic Lodge #139 A.F. & A.M., Hurricane, W.Va. In his free time, Ron loved to keep his yard looking nice, either with his flowers and garden or by mowing the grass. He and his family are members of the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant in Hurricane, W.Va. He is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Davis; children, Missy Nash of Hurricane, W.Va., Andrea Davis of Beckley, W.Va., and Jason Franklin Davis (Mayra) of Guam; grandchildren, Isabela Grace Davis, Leila Bree Davis, Emma Claire Payne, Teige Luciena Davis, Trent Franklin Davis and Terah Alessandra Davis; stepmother, Kathleen Davis Jonczak; sisters, Barbara Davis Rooper (Kenneth) of Hurricane, W.Va., and Cheryl Halstead (Bill) of Hurricane, W.Va.; brother, Bobby McCallister (Katie) of Scott Depot; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Chapman Funeral Home, Hurricane, W.Va., with Rev. Rob Laukoter officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Memorial Park, Hurricane, W.Va. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, W.Va. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
