William Webb Obituary


WILLIAM "BILL" BURCHER WEBB, 72, of Huntington, WV, passed away November 6, 2023, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, WV. He was born October 15, 1951, in St. Marys, WV, a son of the late Deleno Webb and Evelyn Barkwill Webb.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Deleno (Pat) Webb and Michael Webb; a nephew, Eric Shawn Webb; two brothers-in-law, Daryl Culp, and Steve McGinnis; and a sister-in-law, Judy Webb.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Jervis Webb; two stepdaughters, Cassandra Chapman (Matt Ingle) of Huntington, WV and Katelyn Carroll (Caleb) of Midland, TX; three sisters, Anne Culp, Alice Johnson, and Ginny McGinnis all of St. Marys, WV; a brother, James "Jim" Webb (Vanda) of Pittsburgh, PA; a sister-in-law, Judith Webb of Lavalette, WV; a grandson, Garrett Chapman; and two granddaughters, Allegheny Carroll and Rio Carroll. Bill is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Bill maintained close friendships with boyhood friends from St. Marys and colleagues he had mentored (Intellectual Giants).
Bill graduated from Glenville State University with a degree in History, received his M.S.W. from West Virginia University, and a Ph.D. in psychology from Northcentral University. In 2016, he was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Public Service from Glenville State University. He was the founder and former Director of Oasis Behavioral Health in Barboursville. He served on the staff of Joan C. Edwards Medical School at Marshall University in the Department of Psychiatry as a Clinical Associate Professor. His life was lived in service to others and his community.
We will miss his unconditional love and corny jokes.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Wallace Family Funeral Home, South Point, OH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bill's memory to Little Victories, P.O. Box 247 Barboursville, WV 25504, or Huntington Area Food Bank, 1327 7th Avenue Huntington, WV 25701.

I began seeing Bill in 2005 and we became good friends.He always had a corny joke and positive outlook.Bill will truly missed by many people.I will sure miss our chats,and my phone will not ring this thursday.God Bless ya Bill. My condolences to family ad countless friends.
