Delphia McCarty Obituary

MAROA -- Delphia "Della" McCarty, 76, of Chatsworth died 2:20 p.m. Thursday (May 29, 2003) in OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Hager Memorial Home, Chatsworth, with the Rev. Paul Darveau officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Chatsworth Cemetery. Memorials: donor's choice.

Mrs. McCarty was born Aug. 3, 1926, in Greenville, Ky., the daughter of George W. Epley and Mary McGhee. She was affiliated with the Lutheran church and was the former owner of Del's Cafe in Saunemin. She formerly resided in Forrest and Piper City. She married Earl Wearman. She later married Deururd "Red" McCarty on May 22, 1971, in Bowling Green, Mo. He preceded her in death Sept. 14, 1981.

Surviving are her daughters, Patricia (Red) Ulitzsch of Chatsworth; Karen (Craig) Ohmart of Danvers; Sheila Hornickel of Maroa; son, John (Connie) Wearman of Roberts; brother, Buren (Barb) Epley of Forrest; grandchildren, Brian Hardesty; Joshua Ohmart; Mandi, Lindsey and Jessica Hornickel; great-grandchildren, Hailey Hardesty Parcell; Harley Hardesty.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister, three broth ers, one son and one daughter.
