Nancy Ann Rivers Bishop Webb

DECATUR - Nancy Ann Rivers Bishop Webb, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend has gone to be with our Lord on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at 75 years of age. Services to celebrate Nancy's life will be held at 10 am Tuesday, January 5, 2010 in the Chapel of Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 on Monday evening at the funeral home. At Nancy's request, casual dress is preferred. Memorials are suggested to the family. Nancy was born on June 27, 1934 in East Windsor, Connecticut, the daughter of Edmund and Beatrice (Janes) Rivers. She graduated from Windsor Locks High School. She married Clifford L. Bishop and they had five children. She later married Lloyd Ivan Webb and they had two children. Lloyd Ivan Webb preceded her in death on May 9, 1988. Nancy was a very loving and caring woman of the faith. She was a former member of the Westside Church of the Nazarene, is currently a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and an avid watcher of the Crystal Cathedral. She donated frequently to multiple charities. Her life's love was children, as made evident by her years of service at the Progress School and day camps, Mt. Zion School, Westside Nazarene Sunday School, and volunteer work at the Lutheran School Association. She is survived by her seven loving children: Caren and husband Don Hobbs of Decatur, Rick Bishop and wife Tina of FL, Debra and husband Douglas Kennedy of Decatur, Clifford Bishop II of Decatur, Laurie Bishop of Decatur, Rose and husband Frank Porter III of VA, and Barbara Webb of VA, and their families that include 16 grandchildren with one on the way, 16 great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and her sister- Irene Brown of ME. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, two sisters, three brothers and two grandchildren. Obituary written by family members.
